August 25, 2014 // The website has been down for maintenance the last week while I have been updating the website, thank you for being patient. It has now been revamped to update the look and is now optimized for use on mobile and tablet devices. I've also been working on getting some new product in for the fall. More details to come soon.

July 21, 2014 // 'Rough Seas' tshirt is out now! Stoked on this new release hand drawn and designed by creative director and owner Dave Greenfield. Get one before they are gone! Thanks to everyone who ordered during our presale. We are very pleased with the response and would like to thank everyone for the continued support.

May 28, 2014 // There are some reoccurring themes in NOMAD, one being "Ride Till I Die" which first came out in our first line up of snowboards. This statement is about total commitment, snowboarding or riding until death, a marriage of sorts. It is about sticking to it through the fun times the bad times and the injuries.

This theme is also shows up in a later release of the "RIDETILLIDIE" crew neck sweaters with the skull and daggers. The meaning doesn't just apply to snowboarding though it goes deeper, it's statement about fully investing yourself into your cause, not just for now or until you loose interest but for life. To me personally this is my commitment to NOMAD to see it though to the end. This is not a fad or a trend it is a lifestyle that I am committed to until the end.

May 16, 2014 // If you haven't already check out Ty Weed's edit snowboarding in the Whistler backcountry.

May 10, 2014 // One of the main inspirations for the name of brand NOMAD was because I spent 10 months backpacking through Europe with a friend when I was 20 years old. It was an eye opening experience and impacted my life and outlook. I think one of the main reasons that I love traveling is the desire to explore the unknown. I have always been drawn to try and experience new things that challenge or scare me, I think that is the same reason I love snowboarding.

At that age I had never left North America and never been away from my home town of Langley, BC for more than a couple weeks at a time. So to be on the road in Europe at that age was at times very challenging but very exciting. We were on a tight budget and gone for so long that I was able to see the places we visited in a different light than if you were on a couple week vacation.

We began the trip by landing in Germany.

Apr. 28, 2014 // Haven't blogged since December because I have been busy snowboarding this winter and getting new content and media for the site and catalog.

Now that Mt. Seymour is closed for the season, I have some time to go through some photos and footage from the season. The season isn't totally over as there is still some sledding adventures to be had and Whistler is still open but the amount I will be riding will be minimal now that Mt. Seymour is closed.

Now I have time for other important and fun things. Such as planning a trip this summer to California to do some surfing. Getting new product out for the summer. I'm thinking new designs for some tees and snapbacks. And promoting the brand--the goal is to have NOMAD in some retail locations this year.

Here are a few photos from earlier this April. Seems as though when we bring the camera out it gets cloudy or maybe its because when its bluebird nobody wants to film or stand behind the lens…

July 14, 2013 // Concussion Management: Went up to Whistler-Blackcomb with Ty, Kyle and Craig to get some snowboarding shots for the website. First run I overshot the landing of a 40ft table and landed in the flats, the impact gave me a concussion. So instead of getting some new snowboarding shots for the website I got these pictures of Ski Patrol taking care of me. The day didn't go as planned to say the least but that's the way she goes sometimes.

July 1, 2013 // So awesome to be snowboarding one day and cruising around on my skate the next. I love where we live, I am super proud to be from and live in the lower mainland of BC and to be Canadian. I'm wearing my red and white NC tank that will be hitting our online store soon. Happy Canada Day!

Jun-2013 // I'm always stoked to shred with Kyle Lavoie, he has helped me keep pushing my myself the last few seasons. Here is a sequence shot of him doing a front board up on the Blackcomb glacier over the weekend. Fun times!

I love skulls, don't know why but since I was a kid one of my favourite things to draw was a skull and crossbones with a snake wrapping around it and through its eye socket. This is a skull I picked up on a vacation to Mexico. Some of my other favourites to draw as a kid was a guy holding his own decapitated head which is actually inspiration for the zombie board in the photo, and a killer space monkey.

Went camping up in Pemberton for the 4x4 Rally. We camped up at Nairn Falls and look a few product shots of the new summer gear by the river for the website. Always nice to get away from the city and enjoy our beautiful and diverse BC environment. Not to mention watch the mayhem and carnage of the Rally.

NEW NC SNAPBACKS, THESE WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE SOON!

Driving up to Whistler Blackcomb for the last shred of the regular season with Kyle LaGoof, Tmac, Connor and Dave G.

Released new LOGO SNAPBACK hats which sold out during our pre-sale in less than 2 days! More snapbacks to come soon!

Tmac (Sales Rep) and Dave G. (Owner) riding on closing day at Mt. Seymour, it's been a good season to say the least. First season since we launched in November 2012. Thanks for all the support so far and stay tuned for Spring/Summer 2013 gear dropping mid May!

Stormy spring park session up at Mount Seymour in April 2013.

Went up sledding and shredding with Ty Weed for Nick Antle's bday up at Chocolate bowl. If you look close you can see the cluster near the jump is a huge group of sled and people, not trees. It was good meeting Nick and all their buddies up in Whistler. Nick, Ty and some others are dropping a video GLC 3 later this year. We'll post here once it's available. In the photo here is Nick about to drop in.

SNOWBOARDING PHOTO CONTEST: We have teamed up with Komunity.com to present the SNOWBOARDING PHOTO CONTEST! Click here for details.

Trip to Revelstoke with the homies. The weekend we were there, there was no new snow so we were hunting in the trees for pow. Most runs we ended up on after navigating through the trees were mogul fields. By the end of the trip there wasn't a patch of fresh anywhere and everywhere we ended up had moguls so we joked about being the Mogul Crew. It was a little disappointing to have no new snow as Revelstoke is known for being steep and deep. Still a super fun trip shredding with a big group of shredders.

New NOMAD logo decal for the Dakota.

Stormy night shred up at Mount Seymour.

Nothing better than shredding with your buddies on a blue bird day. Shred on!

Here are some materials before the hit the press at The Lab to become NOMAD snowboards. All of our boards are hand crafted in the US at The Lab and designed in house, here in Vancouver. We have four snowboards in our line up this year. Two park boards, the Eternal - Camber and the Zombie Apocalypse - Reverse Camber snowboards as well as two freestyle boards, the Gas Mask - Zero Camber and the Ride Till I Die - Hybrid Camber.

We're stoked to have Ty Weed now riding for NOMAD. Ty lives in Whistler and has been snowboarding for 14 years and counting. He shreds the backcountry hard and we look forward to working with him this season. His other sponsors include Arson and Arena Snowparks. Welcome to the family. Ty is riding our 156 Gas Mask - Zero Camber freestyle snowboard.

Tweaked out Method over a hip in the park at Whistler Blackcomb. This should be a staple in any snowboarders bag of tricks. In this pic is the Ride Till I Die - Hybrid Camber snowboard. It has the power and precision of camber mixed with the fun and agility of reverse camber. This board will shred anything you throw at it.

The view from the new Mystery Peak chairlift on Mount Seymour for a shred on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2012. Mount Seymour has been a stomping ground for Greater Vancouver area shredders for decades and a local mountain to many of our fellow NOMADs. Happy New Year!

Riding up the chairlift with Kyle Lavoie on a pow day at Hemlock Valley Resort.

The name NOMAD is a representation of our brand philosophy. We're moving place to place, mountain to mountain, searching for new lines and terrain to shred. We are driven by a passion for snowboarding, this gives us the motivation to make awesome snowboards with sick graphics in such a competitive market. We love snowboarding and we hope that shows in our designs and our products.
